What you will be responsible for:
Growth
  • Developing and maintaining regular department activities to ensure effective client contact is maintained to enhance relationships while identifying client needs and probing/listening for new growth opportunities.
  • Working with the Relationship Managers to identify client opportunities for referrals to other areas within the Bank.
  • Developing a strategy and implementing a marketing program to achieve the Branch’s asset and profit growth as per agreed targets.
  • Analyzing, recommending and approving credit requests ensuring applications exhibit quality risk assessment and analysis as well as appropriate pricing.
  • Approving credit applications within delegated lending authority.
  • Recommending credit requests in excess of assigned lending authority to the VP & Branch Manager and/or Credit Risk Management as appropriate.
  • Maximizing account profitability through equitable and fair pricing policies.

Leadership
  • Providing leadership to the Relationship Managers to maintain the safety of the Bank’s funds through proper portfolio management with a focus on quality, adherence to authorized terms and conditions, exposure limits and security requirements.
  • Determining each employee’s career goals and support/champion each employee’s career development plans, including facilitating career conversations with employees on a regular basis.
  • Providing ongoing coaching, feedback and encouragement with lenders and analysts to develop skills and confidence which will enhance client relationships and grow the branch’s assets and profitability.
  • Preparing and effectively delivering an annual Performance Appraisal for each direct report.
  • Providing ongoing training and support to staff to ensure continued growth and development of Bank personnel.
  • Representing the Bank at various business and community functions and take every opportunity to enhance the Bank’s image.
  • Together with VP & Branch Manager, ensuring the Bank’s and Branch’s Strategic Plan is effectively communicated to the team.
  • Championing the Bank’s sales strategy through coaching and developing and maintaining regular department activities to ensure effective client contact is maintained to enhance relationships while identifying client needs and probing/listening for new growth opportunities.


Who you are:
  • A degree holder in Business, Commerce, Finance or any other related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • You’ve spent more than ten years in a Real Estate Lending role and have demonstrated your skills in driving sales performance through the leadership of a diverse team with your practiced mentorship and coaching abilities.
  • You are all about people. Be it your clients or your team – you like communicating and connecting with others to provide solutions and build real, lasting relationships. You have a history of strong sales experience and a track record of closing the deal.
  • You’re able to see the bigger picture. Your client focus and practiced leadership skills allow you to develop, implement and deliver a strategic business plan while going beyond expectations. Seizing opportunities to genuinely help others while growing business is your forte.
  • You are not afraid to learn – continuously and consistently. New challenges excite you, and you’re eager to gain new experiences and perpetually build your network through many different industries.
  • You have a proven professional network and referral sources with a presence in the local market.
  • You’re a self-starter, collaborative and accountable. You’re approachable and have a real interest in helping others build their understanding of financial analysis, risk mitigation, and finding creative solutions for building business.
  • You are energized when faced with ambiguity and can adjust your approach – with people and problems – to respond efficiently and effectively in changing conditions. You can drive others to achieve their best in a way that builds trust and encourages individuality while delivering consistent results.
