Skilled Trades - Stoney Creek - Part Time Teaching Opportunities


With a number of Skilled Trades and Apprenticeship programs, Mohawk is one of Ontario’s largest Skilled Trades and Apprenticeship training providers, helping students establish a rewarding career in a skilled trade. We provide essential in-school apprenticeship training, as well as offer several post-secondary trades-related programs.  We are looking for qualified professionals to teach part-time at our Stoney Creek campus in the following areas:
Autobody and Collision Damage Repairer 310B
Automotive Service – Educational Program (ASEP) 310L
Automotive Service Technician 310S
Carpentry 403A
Electricians 309A and 442A
Gas Technician
General Machinist 429A
Horticultural Technician 441C
HVAC Technician
Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) 433A
Instrumentation and Control Technician 447A
Metal Fabricator (Fitter) 437A
Plumbing 306A
Power Engineering 4th,3rd, 2nd Class
Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic - 313A
Residential A/C Systems Mechanic – 313D
Sheet Metal 308A
Steamfitter 307A
Truck and Coach Technician       310T
Welding 456A
Duration: Starting 2017 for either 8, 10 or 16 weeks duration (Monday to Friday, between the hours of 8:00am and 10:00pm)

Qualifications:
Must have Certificate of Qualification in appropriate trade. Must have at least five years industry related experience as a Journeyperson in their trade
Teaching experience preferred
Excellent communication and human relations skills and a commitment to diversity and equity are essential. Ability to work in an environment where a diversity of people and situations are encounteredThe ability to convey the conceptual and practical aspects of subjects to students, respecting their diverse backgrounds, experience and individual learning styles is also essential, as is the desire to contribute to the education of the next generation of apprentices

Candidates must also be committed to working within a team environment and to participating in a consultative decision-making process
